The girl walked down the road, to an abandoned house. She froze in front of it when she saw a scary shadow slip behind the trees.
She walked up to the house and pushed the door wide open. There was a cool draft in the house, causing the girl to shiver.
Her pocket vibrated and she jumped slightly. "Hello?" She asked into the phone. She paused then continued to walk in circles.
(dragonwriter)
"Hello?" she asked again. The girl was getting scared. She had the distinct feeling that she had just stepped right into a horror movie--and she was the pathetic girl who always walked into the closet where the killer lurked.
"Hello?" she begged. "Please, I know you're there!" There was a click as the other party hung up the phone. She snapped hers shut, aggravated with herself. Jumping at shadows again, that was her. But then again... she couldn't shake the feeling that something just wasn't right. An intuition perhaps, a sixth sense. Whatever it was, it told her she wasn't safe.
(wingsgirl1313)
The girl glanced around quickly. She was sure she heard something behind her.
(dragonwriter)
"Hello, my dear. Could I offer you some assistance?" rasped a deep mocking voice. The girl turned around just in time for a man to snach her and pull her close to him.
She screamed in horror. She felt pain in her neck and gasped. "Help!" She cried helplessly. The man chuckled after he pulled his teeth from her neck...
(hopeful_heart94)
"My dear, why don't you come with me?" the man rasped. The girl was out cold before she could reply.
(dragonwriter)
The man carried the girl to a chair in a dark room and laid her down. The girl moaned.
"What is your name?" He asked, turning to her and bending down in front of her. The girl looked up at him, her blue eyes sparkling.
"My name is Adrian. Who are you?" She answered, sitting up in pain. The man smiled crookedly.
"I am a future.....friend. My name is Dante. I guess you know what I am?" He asked quietly. The girl's hand moved to her neck. She felt something warm and pulled her hand away. She looked at it and almost fainted. "Oh God..." She whispered. She fell forward and Dante shot below her and caught her.
(Erik)
"It's... You're..." Adrian felt like the whole world was spinning. "I can't be..."
(~Arith~)
"I am a vampire. And now, you are too. I hope you enjoy it." Dante whispered in her ear. He sounded lovingly, but he sounded deadly as well.
"But..."Adrian passed out and leaned over his shoulder.

Present Time:
"My beauty, time for your feeding. Adrian, darling, wake up." Dante whispered. The future older version of Adrian awoke and sat up.
"Dante, how long have I been asleep?" She asked softly, swinging her legs over the side of the bed. Dante wrapped his arms around Adrian.
"Only a couple hours." He answered, his face in her blonde hair.
(dragonwriter)
"I have a question." She said, relaxing in his embrace. "How did you know me back then anyway?"
(~Arith~)
"My dear, I had been assigned to watch over you from the very beginning." Dante answered.
Adrian leaned against him and closed her eyes. "Do I have to feed?" She asked.
"Yes, Milady. You need blood to survive." Dante answered.
(dragonwriter)
Adrian sighed. "Yeah thanks to you."
Dante shot her a look, but she didnt care.
She noticed she was still leaning against him. He was warm. She smiled.
(~Arith~)
At that point, Dante's hand grasped Adrian's. She looked up at him.
"I can feed now." She said.
Dante nodded and she pulled herself up. She pressed her lips to his neck and opened her mouth. Her teeth punctured his skin and she drank his blood.
Dante's hands slid to her back and laid there, smoothing her nightgown.
Adrian pulled away. A second later the wound was healing itself. Adrian met Dante's eyes.
"Dante, you never explained to me why I can feed from anyone but not make them different. Would you mind explaining it to me?" Adrian asked, her hands moving down his chest and tracing his shirt.
Dante pressed his lips against her forehead. "Milady, females don't have the bateria in them that changes them. Males do though. Would you like some breakfast?" He asked. Adrian smiled and placed her hands on his shoulders. She reached up and she covered his lips with hers. Dante pulled away after a few minutes. "I am guessing that's a yes." He said. Adrian giggled and nodded.
(dragonwriter)
"If you were assigned to watch over me, did you know that we would be mates?" Adrian questioned curiously as they walked toward the kitchen.
"My you're asking a lot of questions today." Dante replied.
(~Arith~)
Adrian smiled. "It's a female thing, you wouldn't understand." She said playfully. "Aren't you going to answer my questions?"
Dante sighed and turned to her once they were in the kitchen. "Yes, I knew we would be mates. But I felt horrible for making you vampiric when I knew you were only seventeen and I twenty-one. But also I put into account that I am over 200 years old. So, it means I can protect you. Anymore questions?" He answered.
(dragonwriter)
"Protect me?" Adrian asked. "From what?"
(~Arith~)
"When a vampire is young, they are targets. I don't want you to be a target." Dante answered, pulling her into the dinning room.
(dragonwriter)
"What would they do with a 'target'?" She asked. "and thanks."
(~Arith~)
"The Fates (men that kill off evil in the world) take the target and kills them off. They honestly don't care what happens to the young vampires." Dante answered pulling a chair out for Adrian to sit in.
(dragonwriter)
Adrian sat down. "So I'm still a target?" She asked shakily.
(~Arith~)
"Well, sorta. But I like to think of you more as a destination." said mockingly a voice from behind.
(hopeful_heart94)
Adrian jumped and looked behind her. A man of brown hair and green eyes was staring at her.
"Who are you?" Adrian asked. Dante's hand, which was on Adrian's shoulder tightened.
"This is my brother Virgil. He is a Fate." Dante answered.
Virgil's eyes moved up and down Adrian's body and then met her eyes.
"Well my brother, I think this young one might be just....worthy...to be kept alive." Virgil said.
(dragonwriter)
"Worthy?" She looked harshly toward Virgil. "Destination?"
Dante's grip on her shoulder tightened and then relaxed.
(~Arith~)
Virgil smiled slightly. "You will see in the near future. Good luck." He rasped.
Dante pulled Adrian out of her seat when Virgil disappeared as a blur.
(dragonwriter)
Dante embraced Adrian and stroked her blonde hair.
"Dante?" Adrian asked, looking up at him.
"Yes Milady?" Dante answered her, catching her gaze.
"You can start protecting me now." She said nervously.
"From my brother?" Dante asked, a half statement half question.
Adrian laid her head on his chest.
(~Arith~)
"Lord Dante?" asked a weak voice from behind.
Dante turned his head so he wouldn't disturb Adrian to see who was there. The young servant, Lyanne, was standing in the dining room doorway.
"Yes, Lyanne?" He asked, his hand rubbing Adrian's arm.
"I am sorry to disturb you, s-sir. But there are two men out in the Great Hall looking for you." She said.
Dante glanced down at Adrian. "What are their names?" He asked.
"They said they were known as Orion and Virgil. I have no idea who they are, my Lord." Lyanne said. She disappeared when Dante yelled in frustration.
"I will be back in a few minutes, my love." Dante whispered. Adrian nodded and sat down.
(Jare_bear13)
Dante walked through the dining room and into the Great Hall. His brother Virgil was standing against a wall. The other man, Orion, was his father.
"My dear son." Orion whispered. Dante just glared at him.
(dragonwriter)
"What do you want?" He asked firmly. "Whenever you visit me, you only want something."
Virgil narrowed his eyes.
(~Arith~)
"Seeing as though you never ammount to anything, Dante. I think it is unwise to be mouthy with me. I am here for the simple reason that you are mated with a young vampire. You know my standards in our family." Orion said, his voice barely more than a whisper.
Dante's eyes shot to his twin brother. "Virgil, what a surprise that you open your trap." He muttered. "Father, you know I respect you and your traditions, but this woman means the world to me." He said to Orion.
Orion's expression was incapable to be deciphered. He seemed emotionless.
Virgil shot his father a look. "You can't be serious about this. You can't let him go." He protested.
Dante looked to his father in delight.
Orion held a finger up to Virgil to silence him.
"Yes. But Dante, I wish to meet this woman. When is an appropriate time to meet her?" Orion asked.
Dante almost sighed in relief. "We are having a dinner this coming weekend. You may come if you wish." He said.
Orion smiled. "Good, see you then. Come, Virgil." He said. They disappeared in an instant.
(dragonwriter)
Dante went to see Adrain after the two had disappeared, finding she wasn't in the dining room but in her own room. He knocked on the door. Adrian answered.
"Dante." She said. "Who was visiting?"
"My father." He replied. "He wishes to meet you."
(~Arith~)
Adrian looked terrified. "Orion Black? You're father? Wants to meet me? Why?" She asked.
Dante sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "He doesn't...approve of young vampires in the family." He said.
"Why?" Adrian asked.
Dante stepped into the room and pulled her into his arms. "Because they bring the Fates to us." He answered.
(dragonwriter)
"But isn't Virgil a Fate?" Adrian asked. "Shouldn't he protect us from other Fates?"
(~Arith~)
"Virgil wouldn't save this family if we were the last being on the planet." Dante answered.
(dragonwriter)
"That is just demented. If this is his family then he should respect that. Why is he like that?" Adrian asked.
Dante sighed and pulled her over to her bed. "Well, Virgil is...well....different. He recieved powers from our uncle." He said.
"What kind of powers?" Adrian asked, keeping close to his chest. Dante rubbed her back and shushed her.
"My love, each vampire has a choice to become good or evil. Virgil chose neither and became powerful. He only wants power. And protecting his family doesn't bring him power." Dante whispered.
Adrian reached her hand up and rubbed his cheek. "What did you choose, sweetheart?" She asked, already knowing the answer.
Dante moved his hand down her back. "I chose love." He whispered into her ear.
Adriand moved up and kissed his lips gently.
(jare_bear13)
Dante kissed her back and hugged her close to him.
"My love, my love, you are the best thing that's come to me in this life." He whispered.
Adrian rubbed his cheek. You might have taken my humanity, but this is a good life as long as I am with you." She said.
There was a knock on the door and they looked at it.
(dragonwriter)
"Come in." Dante said, looking back at the woman in his arms.
The door opened and a man in formal-wear stepped in.
"Lord Dante, they need you in the Front Hall." The man said in a formal tone.
"Yes sir. I will be there within moments. Do you know of their meanings?"
"Yes, they wish to talk to you about.....War tactics. Your lady must stay here." The man said.
Dante nodded. "Yes sir."
(demon_cousin)
Dante left Adrian in her room to meet up with whom it was who needed him.
(dragonwriter)
Adrian waited patiently in her room. She sat on her bed.
"Look who we have here." A voice spoke up.
(~Arith~)
Adrian's eyes shot up and she looked at the man standing next to her open window.
Virgil was glaring at her.
(dragonwriter)
"What are you---?!" Adrian tried to say as Virgil covered her mouth with his hand. She looked around despirately as her room distorted and faded away.
(~Arith~)
Adrian fell to her knees as Virgil let her go. "Ahh!" She yelled in pain.
Virgil laughed. "Shut up and get up." He said.
Adrian stood up and looked around. She was in an empty house where sheets were covering the windows.
Virgil smiled and walked up to her. "You see where you are, right?" He asked.
Adrian looked up into his devilish eyes and almost lost her balance.
Adrian looked around and noticed the house looked familiar....
(dragonwriter)
"This is where..." Adrian paused, making sure her memory of the house was right.
"Yes, exactly." Virgil nodded. "Here is where you met that good for nothing brother of mine."
Adrian looked angrily towards him. "What do you want me for anyway?"
(~Arith~)
"That's it, I want you. Doesn't mean I want you for anything. Just means I want you." Virgil said, advancing on her, causing her to be against the wall.
"Virgil!" a voice yelled from behind.
Virgil let Adrian's arm go and looked behind him quickly.
A woman in a long black dress and high heels was standing next to the door. She had long brown hair and brilliant orange eyes.
Virgil cursed under his breath and walked away from Adrian.
"I'm sorry about my son's forcefullness." the woman said. "He has never been tought correctly that he can't always have what he wants."
Adrian looked at the woman. "You're Virgil and Dante's mother?" she asked.
"Yes, I am. And who may you be?" the woman said.
"I am Adrian. Dante's mate." said Adrian.
The woman's eyes shot to Virgil and she sent a bolt of lightening at him. He flew back and hit the wall. "How dare you! Your own brother's mate. I refuse to let you get away with this. Come on, I'll be taking you to your father now." she said.
Virgil snarled and got off the ground. "Don't you think Adrian should be returned to Dante?" he asked.
The woman nodded. "I will take her. Now get out of here." she yelled.
Virgil disappear leaving Adrian and the woman alone.
(dragonwriter)
The woman took Adrian back to Dante. Dante was sitting on Adrian's bed.
"Dante." the woman spoke softly.
Dante jumped up and turned around. "Mother?" asked Dante.
The woman nodded and placed her hand on Adrian's back. "I have come to return your mate." she said.
Dante hovered over to Adrian and embraced her. "My sweet heart." He murmured.
Adrian smiled into his shirt.
(dragonwriter)
Dante's mother smiled at her son. "I trust Dante takes good care of you, Adrian?" She asked, a sly smirk upon her pale face.
Adrian met Dante's midnight colored eyes and smiled softly.
"He's taking care of me just fine." She whispered.
Dante grinned devilishly and bent his head down to kiss her passionately.
Dante's mother smiled and disappeared into nowhere.
